Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Your first major stop is the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic film locations. After exploring the village, you will continue to Ouarzazate to visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah. In the evening, you will arrive in the picturesque town of Boumalne Dades, where you will spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse or luxurious hotel.
Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Todra Gorge - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
After breakfast, you will travel to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs create one of Morocco’s most dramatic natural landscapes. From there, the journey continues towards Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. As the sun begins to set, you will enjoy a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes before arriving at a traditional Berber desert camp. The evening includes a delicious dinner, live music around the campfire, and an overnight stay under the starry desert sky.
Day 3: Merzouga - Valley of Roses - Marrakech
Early in the morning, you will begin the return journey to Marrakech. The route takes you through the fragrant Valley of Roses and back across the Atlas Mountains, offering beautiful landscapes and plenty of opportunities for photo stops along the way. You will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your 3-day Sahara desert experience.
