The simple answer: because behind El Rakan Tours Morocco there is no call centre and no faceless brand – just a Hungarian–Moroccan family who live here, know this country inside out, and create private tours in Morocco the way we would want to travel ourselves.
Our story
We are Nikoletta and Talal. Nikoletta was born and raised in Hungary. She holds a master’s degree in European and International Administration and spent several years working in public administration in Hungary. Talal was born in Skoura, a palm-grove village about 40 km from Ouarzazate in southern Morocco. He studied tourism at the hotel school in Ouarzazate and worked in luxury hospitality in Skoura.
Then we set off for Europe together. For nearly ten years we lived and worked across the continent.
In 2023 we moved to Morocco with our two little boys, Rakan – who gave our company its name – and Qusay, and founded El Rakan Tours Morocco in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara. Those years abroad gave us something valuable: we know exactly what European travellers expect, and we know Morocco as only a local can.
What we do
We design private, tailor-made trips around you. No fixed departure dates, no crowded buses, no copy-paste itineraries. Our most popular experiences:
- Sahara desert tours (3 and 4 days) from Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas, visiting kasbahs and Ait Benhaddou, and spending a night in a desert camp among the dunes
- Day trips from Marrakech – the Agafay desert, Essaouira on the Atlantic coast, the Ouzoud waterfalls, Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou
- Fully custom round trips – desert, mountains, coast, or all three, planned day by day
- Small-group walking tours for those who like to explore on foot with a few like-minded travellers
Every private tour includes a private vehicle with an experienced, English-speaking driver, and guiding where it really adds value.

A real family business. When you book with us, you know who you are talking to. Nikoletta is personally reachable on WhatsApp before and during your trip.
Travelling with kids? We get it. As parents of two young boys, we know what families need on the road: shorter driving stretches, flexible stops, child-friendly meals and time for little ones to run around.
We are there when things go wrong. Travel is not always smooth. Over the years we have helped guests through urgent medical situations, the paperwork after rental-car accidents, bags lost in taxis and forgotten items in the car. You are never on your own.
Local knowledge, European standards. We live in Ouarzazate, work with trusted local partners we know personally, and only book places we or our guests have tried.
Clear communication. We speak your language – English, Hungarian, French, and Arabic – so nothing gets lost in translation.
Your pace, not ours. We plan routes and timing so your days feel full but never rushed.
